Privacy policy
How Revelation Life Church looks after your personal information.
What we collect
Your name and contact details, your household, the events, groups, teams and courses you join, your giving, and anything you choose to share with us, such as prayer requests or a story. For children, their parent or guardian gives us details for Kids Church, including medical details and who may collect them.
Sensitive information
Some of what a church keeps is sensitive: your faith journey, pastoral care, health details and information about children. Only the leaders who need it can see it. Medical details, pastoral notes and safety records are encrypted, and every time someone opens them it's recorded.
How we use it
To care for you and your family, run services, events and groups, keep children safe, send you the updates you've asked for, and give you tax receipts. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Messages
Messages in the app are private between the people in the chat, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. If a conversation is reported, our safeguarding officer can read it. Parents and guardians can read their child's messages. Messages are deleted after 3 years, unless they're part of an open safety matter.
Who we share it with
Services that help run the app: hosting and our database (in Australia), email delivery, and Zeffy for payments. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it or someone is at risk of harm.
How long we keep it
While you're part of the church, and then as the law requires: giving records for 7 years, and safety records for longer. Messages are deleted after 3 years.
Your choices
On My privacy and data you can see and download your records, change what you've agreed to, ask for a full copy of everything we hold (we reply within 30 days), ask us to correct something, or ask us to erase your details. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
